ANES 1133 - Anesthesia Technology Practicum


3 Credit Hours

Course Description:
This course introduces the student to the foundational psychomotor and affective skills necessary to assist in general, regional, or sedation anesthesia. Additionally, the course prepares students for foundational skills, including medical diagnostics, operating room management, team dynamics, and critical thinking necessary to operate as an anesthesia technologist.

1. Demonstrate knowledge of anesthesia equipment needed for a variety of surgical cases.
2. Demonstrate the proper basic anesthesia setup for a variety of surgical cases.
3. Apply psychomotor skills in combination with theoretical knowledge to function as an Anesthesia Technologist in the anesthesia care environment.
