EMS 1334 - Trauma Emergencies


4 Credit Hours

Course Description:
This course provides an in-depth study of trauma and shock, including pharmacological interventions for conditions frequently encountered in the prehospital setting. Topics include an overview of thoracic, abdominal, genitourinary, orthopedic, neurological, multi-system trauma, soft tissue trauma of the head, neck, and face, and environmental emergencies. Upon completion, students will be able to recognize and manage trauma situations based on patient assessment and will adhere to standards of care. Includes labs and clinical/field shifts.

EMS 1324
