SOC 1143 - Chemical Dependency 3 Credit Hours
Course Description: Introduction to Chemical Dependency is designed to introduce the dynamics of chemical dependency and the aspects of drug and alcohol dependence and addiction. Family dynamics will be discussed as well as the impact of dysfunctional or imbalanced family systems on individuals and their chemical use. The purpose of this course is to provide basic theoretical concepts and research in the field of chemical dependency.
Prerequisites: ENGL 0203, adequate placement score, or by meeting determined placement measures
