RC 2212 - Pulmonary Fnctn Testing/Bronch 2 Credit Hours
Course Description: The student will develop knowledge of the advanced diagnostic procedures necessary to perform comprehensive pulmonary function testing in the clinical setting. This includes performance and interpretation of spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion and assisting the physician with performance of bronchoscopy. The student will demonstrate an understinding of these procedures through hands-on lab experiments. The student will also develop a basic understanding of the concepts of cardiac and exercise testing as well as a brief overview of polysomnography. The student will be able to relate these testing procedures to the diagnosis of cardiopulmonary disease.
