PHYS 2223 - Modern Physics for Engineers 3 Credit Hours
Course Description: Students demonstrate understanding of essential concepts in 20th century physics. Topics investigated include relativity, quantization, atomic models, quantum mechanics, atomic physics, statistical mechanics, and the current standard model of particle physics. Students solve problems using mathematical methods including ordinary differential equations.
Prerequisites: PHYS 2114 Engineering Physics II
Corequisites: MATH 2413 Introduction to Ordinary Differential Equations
Additional Information: This course is offered in the Summer and Fall semesters.
