Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Degree Programs

This degree combines the study of society with focused preparation for criminal justice careers. Students explore how social forces shape crime, justice systems, and community responses through the lens of sociology. The program develops critical understanding of legal systems (policing, courts, corrections) and community-based justice solutions while maintaining sociology’s analytical approach to human behavior, social divisions, and social structures.

Graduates are prepared to continue their education at a four-year college or university and pursue careers in law enforcement, corrections, victim advocacy, parole services, forensic science, research, program development, and social services.
