PTA 2011 - PTA Career Transitions 1 Credit Hours
Course Description: This course prepares Physical Therapist Assistant students for successful transition from academic study to professional practice. Students engage in comprehensive review of core program content. The course includes structured exam preparation strategies, test-taking skills, and practice with National Physical Therapist Assistant Exam-style questions across all content areas.
Students will navigate the licensure application process, including understanding state-specific requirements, jurisprudence considerations, and professional regulations. Career readiness components address resume development, interview preparation, job search strategies, and professional networking. The course also covers workplace expectations, inter-professional collaboration, continuing education requirements, and lifelong learning in physical therapy practice.
Upon completion, students will demonstrate readiness for the NPTAE, understand the licensure process, and possess the professional skills necessary for entry-level employment as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Prerequisites: All PTA and BIO courses must be completed and a PTA program GPA of 2.5 or better
