ART 2243 - Sculpture

3 Credit Hours

Course Description:
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental techniques, materials, and concepts of sculpture. Students will explore various methods of creating three-dimensional works, including additive and subtractive processes. Emphasizing creativity and experimentation, the course will cover traditional and contemporary sculptural practices, incorporating both representational and abstract forms. The course will also include discussions on art history, sculpture theory, and contemporary sculptural practices, fostering an understanding of the cultural and conceptual contexts of sculpture. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration will be integral to the creative process.
